Board of Directors
Chair – Robert Morton
(Tay Township)
Term: June 9, 2011 - June 8, 2014
|

Robert Morton, a resident of Tay Township, is a highly experienced health care executive who has worked in a number of senior positions within the Ontario health and social service system over the past thirty-five years. In December 2008 he was appointed the first Chair of the then newly merged Huronia District and Penetanguishene General Hospitals, now named Georgian Bay General Hospital. His other positions include:
Founding Chief Executive Officer of Children’s Treatment Network of Simcoe York
Executive Director of two Community Care Access Centres - Peel and Simcoe County
Senior administrator of the homes for the aged program of the County of Simcoe
Mr. Morton has held a number of board positions for various health care related agencies and councils.

Vice Chair – L. Anne Gagné
(Penetanguishene)
Term: May 2, 2010 – May 1, 2013
|
Anne Gagné is a retired Superintendent of French-language schools from the Simcoe County Roman Catholic Separate School Board who also served as an Education Officer for the Ministry of Education in both the Barrie district and Toronto centres. Upon retirement, she continued to serve as an educational consultant in human resources for French-language school boards in Ontario and other provinces across Canada. She serves on the Boards of Directors at the local, provincial and national level in the area of radio communication networks that provide services and support to French minority populations across Canada. A former member of TVOntario, she presently sits on the board of the newly independent French television network, TFO. At the local level, Anne is greatly involved in her community as chair of the public library, the French cultural centre and the French radio station. Anne also served as first president of the local unit and provincial secretary for the Association of Parents of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing. |
Member - Richard (Rick) Antaya
(Severn)
Term: January 27, 2010 - January 26, 2012

 Over a 35-year career in sport, recreation, culture and tourism, Rick Antaya of Severn Bridge has worked with municipal councils, First Nation communities, not-for-profit organizations, government agencies, private corporations and volunteer groups. Rick is a graduate of the University of Guelph, with a degree in Psychology and Political Science, has a diploma in Recreation Leadership and during his career, embraced personal development through continuing education. His involvement in volunteer activities included Past Chair of the Recreation Advisory Committee at Conestoga College, Past Chair of the Ontario Municipal Recreation Directors Foundation, and Account Executive with the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo. He is currently the Regional Trails Coordinator for Ontario on behalf of the National Trails Coalition. He is proud of his family and enjoys being involved in the sporting life of his “grand-boys”.

Member – Jake Arnold
(Tay Township)

Jake Arnold’s experience within the Human Resources portfolio is broad and complete; a corporate officer as Vice President of Human Resources, a line manager as Director of Human Resources, and a managing partner of a consulting firm specializing in implementing best practices to effect organizational change and improved operational outcomes. Mr. Arnold holds a BA degree from Wilfred Laurier University. He has consulted in the health sector and served as a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton.

Member – Peter Brown
(Orillia)
Term: July 1, 2010 - Jun 30, 2012

Peter Brown is a career educator with varied experience in college, secondary and elementary education as a teacher, department head, high school vice principal, board curriculum administrator and senior manager in the college sector. He holds BA and MA degrees from the University of Western Ontario. At his retirement, Mr. Brown was President of the DeVry Institute of Technology and immediately prior, Academic Vice President (and Acting President) of Sheridan College where he held various dean portfolios including Health Sciences and Applied Arts. He has had extensive involvement with public and private boards and advisory committees as a member, reporting officer and staff support. After his retirement, he served as Vice Chair of the Board of the Ontario Family Health Network. |
Member – Donald Mitchell
(Muskoka)
Term: June 15, 2010 - June 14, 2012

Donald Mitchell has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and is a Certified Management Consultant. Donald is the Owner and President of Mitchnagel Inc., a boutique management-consulting firm and Muskoka Coaching a coaching practice specializing in business effectiveness. He is also the Coordinator for the Project Management Post Graduate Program at Humber College. He has previously held several positions such as Managing Consultant of SPM Group Ltd., Chief Project Officer for Vasogen Inc., Vice President of SPM Group Ltd., Consultant/Instructor of Project Management for ESI International and Director of the Oshawa Group Ltd. Mr. Mitchell is a past member of the Advisory Council, Office of the Employer Advisor, as well as the Advisory Board, School of Environmental Health, Ryerson Polytechnic University. He is a past member of the St. John Ambulance Ontario Council Advisory Board and previously coached for the Mississauga Hockey League and Central Ontario Baseball Association. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, the Project Management Institute and the International Coach Federation. |
Member – Peter Preager
(Wasaga Beach)
Term: April 18, 2011 - April 17, 2014

Peter has a diverse background in the public and private sectors. In the Public sector, within the Ontario Government, Peter was the Deputy Director for the Companies Branch and the Personal Property Branch. In the private sector, Peter held positions as Vice President of Information Technology and Vice President of Program Management. Peter was also certified by The Canadian Information Processing Society as an Information Systems Professional, was a Member of the Project Management Institute, and received a Certificate in Management from Carleton University. As an active member in the community, he is a committee member and webmaster of the Healthy Community Network, serves on the Board of Directors for both Wasaga Distribution Inc., and Wasaga Geosands Inc., served as a resource board member of the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre, volunteers as the newsletter editor/publisher for the community based men’s Probus Club of Wasaga Beach, and is the co-webmaster for Probus Canada.

Member – Margaret Redmond
(Township of Tiny)
Term: April 18, 2011 - April 17, 2013
|

Margaret Redmond is a Registered Nurse, having completed her certificate at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She served in psychiatric hospitals in London and Thunder Bay, emergency room and orthopedics care in Thunder Bay, oncology patient care at Princess Margaret in Toronto, and also as a Coordinator of a Palliative Care Volunteer Program with the VON and Manager of Volunteer Programs in North York. Presently retired, Margaret demonstrates her strong commitment to community engagement. A great believer in prevention, she has been and is presently involved in local organizations that encourage wellness and good health such as the Tiny Trail and Active Transportation Master Plan Steering Committee and the Community Recreation Committee.

Member – Ron Stevens
(Barrie)
Term: May 17, 2011 - May 16, 2014

Ron Stevens brings extensive experience in governance and senior management to the NSM LHIN Board. He holds an MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario and a BASc/ChemEng from the University of Toronto. Mr. Stevens’ governance experience in the public and private sectors includes Chair of Georgian College and Georgian College Foundation as well as being a board member for Barrie Hydro and PowerStream. Mr. Stevens has held senior functional and general management positions in large multi-national and smaller start-up and turn around business. He has also lectured at the under-graduate and graduate levels at several Canadian university business schools.
