All of us have experienced the local health care system – as patients, caregivers, family or friends.  Your stories, thoughts and suggestions are what guide the work that we do in improving health care for the families and residents that live in North Simcoe Muskoka.

What better way to keep the focus of our work on improving the patient experience than to hear stories directly from you?  You are welcome to provide your story in written format via the following link:

Or, feel free to contact Sheila Winegarden, Community Engagement Coordinator, who can help connect you to the person or group that you can have a conversation with about your experiences and ideas for improvement - be it the CEO or Board of the NSM LHIN, to the various Councils or Committees of Care Connections

Patient, Family, Caregiver Advisory Group

North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN) is seeking community members to participate on the new Patient, Caregiver, Family Advisory Group (PCF Advisory Group) to the NSM LHIN.

Engaging local stakeholders regarding the local health systems needs and LHIN priorities is critical to NSM LHIN’s mandate.  This Group will serve as a forum for dialogue among community members as they advise the LHIN on issues and perspectives related to health system goals and objectives. The purpose of the Advisory Group is to provide advice to the LHIN on how to achieve person-centred health care within the local health system.

With the assistance and leadership of NSM LHIN staff, the Advisory Group will:

  • Provide system level advice and guidance to the NSM LHIN to support the successful implementation of the NSM LHIN Integrated Health Service Plan 2013-2016, our Care Connections work and other LHIN and Ministry strategic priorities.
  • As required, act as a resource to and/or work in collaboration with other NSM LHIN planning groups/committees.

The Advisory Group is expected to meet quarterly (4 times per year) and membership is extended to all North Simcoe Muskoka community residents.
