Ontario is ensuring that supportive housing and mental health services continue to be provided to those who need them.  The province will help to support the At Home/Chez Soi project in order to maintain 216 supportive housing units and support services for 240 people living with mental illness. The four-year research project, led by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, is focused on reducing the growing number of homeless people affected by a mental illness.

The passage of the Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit Act will allow Ontario’s seniors to renovate their homes so they can live in them safely and independently longer.  Seniors who own or rent homes, and people who share a home with a senior relative, will be able to receive the new tax credit worth up to $1,500 each year.

The North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill Tettmann as Interim Chief Executive Officer.  Ms. Tettmann has been with the LHIN since January 2006 and is currently the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN’s Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to her appointment as Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Tettmann held the positions of Senior Director, Health System Performance, Measurement and Integration and Senior Director, Planning, Integration and Community Engagement.
